Hi
Just bought a plus 2 project for me to finish. The engine is not with the car so I am planning a Spyder chassis based restoration.
I am sure there will be a few requests for advice and help but for now, time for me to read some threads.
Best regards

The car is on a Spyder chassis now so I will go that route and, as the original engine is lost (no paperwork at all), I plan to go Zetec with injection and ECU. The ? value and historic value rely on matching numbers so without that I think an economical, reliable, fast and good looking car is the best bet - I might even try one track day at some point!!
I will set up a project thread and add some pics but here is a teaser taken at a well known West Midlands specialist.......

Looks like a Bahama Yellow car to me, circa 1970!!
It's probably worth working out the costs of restoring the car before you charge off in one direction! It can be cheaper to put an original Twincam back in, but going the Zetec route will give you a fair bit more power. Both approaches have been done many times by folks on here, so real costs are well known.
Do you have enough paperwork to be able to get the car back on the road?

Interesting point about registration - I only have an old V5 and DVLA rejected that. I have sent in V62 and SORN notice so fingers crossed.
I have been talking to Spyder cars and to some other engine suppliers. I must say Spyder have been very helpful indeed and a an early visit to them is next on the list once I have lifted the body off the chassis.
The car is now at the bodyshop I am using and I will take the chassis away to work on the engine installation and suspension.
I have a gauge missing next to the clock - I think it might be an ambient temp gauge - is that correct? I haven't searched all the parts boxes yet but I am not hopeful......
