Taken the plunge...

Well I've finally taken the plunge and bought one.
After much searching I've acquired a 1974 registered Lotus Elan Plus 2.
The search has been somewhat difficult as I live in Hong Kong. My father who has owned one or two in his time has been doing all the leg work looking at cars all on my behalf. Eventually we settled on this one with 64,000 miles since new and seemingly in very good condition.
It was originally red (Maroon L011) but was resprayed when it had the new chassis and looks much better for it. Obviously I've not driven it as yet but I am very much looking forward to taking it to Le Mans in June. Brave pills taken first trip in the car will be across France.
The Lotus will be joining a good home and be cared for by my Dad in the UK, whilst I have a number of other cars in the stable including my race Ariel Atom in China, race E30 325 in the UK, 911 on its way to HK and Mercedes 500E on its way from the Middle East to the UK.
Some pictures for completion:
The Mercedes will be my support car for Le Mans, just in case.
So here's to Lotus ownership, its my first and probably not last classic car besides I've owned Italian cars before so I'm used to surprises
