Welcome Chris,
'Bikes' is pleural. Shouldn't you keep one? The most reliable with best ergonomics for our older frames!
As for Elans. They are incredibly rewarding. Personally I'd spend a bit more and get one that's been done fully and properly.
The cost of a good restoration is more than the value of these cars.
Down to Elan or +2.
If the former, DHC or FHC, then pick the profile you like the best. There's really not a great deal of modern day practical performance difference between standard cars. We all have our favourites.

Agreed, and, my .02 digital-currencies is that the +2 is ideal for touring because of the front 1/4 windows, and (though you can change the Élan’s) rear toe in keeps the +2 easier to control and feels more stable.
Born, and brought home from the hospital (no seat belt (wtf)) in a baby!
