Good Morning to all,
My name is Iain, I live in Edinburgh, I have a blue 1972 plus 2. Sounds like an AA meeting.....
I'll start with an apology, I am not great on forums, but recognise they are a great resource of information.
I have a regular read of this one, and actually joined a wee while ago.
I've now managed to bite the bullet and actually post, so sorry!
I've had the Plus 2 for a couple of years now, I actually use it for work in the summer.
As you can imagine, there have been a few moments. On the whole, it's been great.
I'm used to old cars, currently I have the Plus 2, a Stag and a Polo G40.
I'm impressed by the wealth of knowledge here. I think some of the names might even know the car. I got it from a guy John in Bristol, should that ring any bells.
For someone who doesn't write a lot, I'm rambling on!

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.

You've got a Stag..... can I book in for a trim and rinse?
Only joking, they're great cars.... but not as good as the Plus2..

Hello Iain
A belated welcome to the forum.
My first sports car was a Triumph Stag Mk 1. Beautiful styling by Michelloti
Still one of my most favourite cars.
This forum has an absolute wealth of knowledge and experience and I have always found it incredibly friendly.
Enjoy your Plus 2 and don't be afraid to ask for advice

Thank you all for the welcome. I completely understand the Stag jests, but if I'm honest, it's my wife who uses it the most. She won't let me sell it.
I much prefer the plus 2, I use it for work all summer. It's had its moments, but I haven't bought a spare part for a year, so can't complain.
I'll have a look at the picture loading, see how it goes....
Cheers!

Having owned a Plus 2 for a short while and driven it in all weathers I think I’d prefer a well sorted Stag. I found the +2 was too hot in Summer and the A pillar is a bit too close for comfort. A great car though. (I have what I really wanted now - a normal convertible Elan, a 1970 S4 SE that I am restoring.)
Welcome to the madhouse!

Hi
Car looks very nice. I haven't seen that bonnet modification before, is it running some sort of cone filter?
All the best

Hi Berni,
This modification was before I got the car.
Basically it’s had the radiator moved to the nose. Cools great.
That lost the proper air intake, so the engine only got warm air.
The bonnet mod is to give cold air to the carbs.
It’s running K and N’s on Dellortos.
If you are really interested, I can send you pictures.
Cheers
