My name’s Mike McHugh, and I just bought a 1965 Elan S2…identical to my first Lotus that I got in 1971 ( it still belongs to my old best friend, roommate, and racing partner…Lotus 61 FF’s).
The car is BRG, silver bumpers and knock off wheels. Has a number of improvements; Spyder, CV joints, coil overs.
I am looking for:
Top frame rails and bars.
Chrome emblems.
Brake pads, or solution for very hard/ low friction pads…master has been replaced, maybe with wrong size?
A pretty blond.
Original jack and handle.
Visors?
Inner door cards/ whole assemblies.
Call me crazy…I’ve had 12 Lotus; 1960 Seven America, 3 Early Elans, Plus 2, Cortina, 77 and 79 Esprit’s, 22, 51, and 61 formula cars, and a 23 sports racer….but the Elan will forever be my favorite.
Nice to discover this forum,
Mike aka Anson

Hello Mike,
Congrats on your new Elan! So glad you were able to close the deal.
This is the place to find the bits you are looking for.
Suggest you keep the pretty blond who already owns you!
Recommend you edit your post to remove your email address so the email scraping spam bots don't flood your inbox.
Best regards,

Hello Mike,
welcome !
I might suggest that you open a new thread in the WANTED section for the parts you asking for.
Although some of us read many/most posts, some only read headlines and enter in "interesting" threads.
The "brake pads" questions line would be something for "Suspension / Steering / Brakes / Wheels / Tyres" section. You will find some threads which discuss experiences on EBC/Mintex/etc.
BTW searching on this site: better with Google with a "site:lotuselan.net" added, you will avoid a lot of frustration

Thank you…being a bit of a Luddite, I need help using these magic boxes.
Now, a ‘65 Elan, I can understand, diagnose, and fix, mostly.
