Greetings from sunny and hot Arizona,
I've just bought my first Lotus and will be seeking a lot of help as I get this wonderful girl back on the road.
The good...chassis, body, and interior look great. The brakes need to be rebuilt, and I'll need to replace the rubber donuts for proper universal joints. Living in Arizona, the PO already purchased a larger radiator.
The bad...the engine has been completely dismantled. I purchased it from a fellow in Michigan, but he knows little about it's history. It's complete and looks to be in good condition.
So my first of many questions. Who is a reputable engine rebuilder for the twink in the southwest? I'd prefer local, but willing to travel if needed. Not looking for any major mods. Just a solid runner.
This Lotus will be joining her cousins from England, a 74 Jensen Healey (so I guess it's not my first Lotus) and a 75 MG Midget.
thanks,
Barry

Congrats on your new Elan. I don't know of a good builder in PHX, but I do know of a great one near Santa Barbara, CA.
Tony Ingram is excellent and the coast is a nice break from the heat. https://www.lotus7.com/Home.html

There is no cure for Lotus, only treatment.

Welcome to Elan ownership. +1 on Tony Ingram. I've bought parts from him for years. I'm in Ohio or Florida, depending on season.
