How times have changed. When I was at school back in the '60s they insisted that all pupils under 15 wore shorts (it was a boys only school). Now it's unacceptable to wear them. Personally I'd turn up in a skirt and hairy legs and make sure the newspapers knew I was doing it, but you'd need an unusual degree of self confidence to carry that off at 14. Particularly if you were going to call the police to deal with all the 'upskirting' that would be going on.

Could be fun in a skirt, I know some girls at school wore “mini-skirts”. Nice and cool…

No doubt the principal of that school is Scottish. All just standard custom for the Scotts. Girls wear trousers and men wear skirts.

Not sure Scotts put themselves there, but, the point was Scotts wear skirts. Not a UK thing.

I’ve got to admit the Scott’s were visionaries all along as it’s definitely women that wear the pants these days. Glad to know however kilts weigh 3 times as much as a skirt - after all, if a bloke is going to wear a skirt it may as well be a man’s skirt. I’ve got it now “kilt” equals “man skirt” and not just “skirt”. Thank you for that item of knowledge.

I wore our ancient tartan to our wedding 25 years ago, haven’t worn it much since. Guess its hot enough now I should get it out.
Then again, it wouldn’t have done too well at 7,000feet today on my commute home from work (Gray Creek Pass)
Or maybe it would have

Please if you are going to wear a kilt whilst riding a motorcycle do it on a private road and not a public one. Have some courtesy for those folllowing behind. Whilst showing a bit of “builders crack” in public sometimes may be forgiven this is taking things to a whole new level.

It looks as if I was hasty on saying 3 times the weight of a skirt.
I've done some checking & found internet references to
Skirts weigh 200 to 500 gram
Kilts are typically 450 gm.
I was going by the feeling that the Welsh Kilt that my brother had made for him seemed very heavy.
Hey ho.
