Is anyone here a member of the French Lotus Club?
In typical French style, I see there is a cost of 60€ p.a to join - I would hope for this there is a swanky clubhouse with a good bar for the money...
Comments? Are there any benefits?

but know that we make the effort to write their language, even if it is not always well understood, then by making the effort it is understood and then with Google translate it helps!
And to say, vice versa! this is not always the case, but there are exceptions as everywhere.
I had this experience, if we were talking about a car (Lotus among others), with enthusiasts, most often the effort follows.
love them as they are

And you get two club badges, a nice mug and a letter every month! But no swanky bar!
I will join
On a serious note, they are quite into Lotus. Mainly Exige I think. I get a lot of attention and many conversations when I park up the Evora.

I love France and the French. Having driven many thousands of miles all over their lovely country I had on one occasion help from Lotus Club France. My dynamo as it was then collapsed in Beaune and I was stuck as no UK supplier could get a replacement to me in a reasonable time. I rang the Club and they put me in touch with a member in Lyon who found me one locally, and on trust put it in a taxi and had it delivered to me!! I paid him when we got home some time later. I do hope that we would help someone in the same manner if they called for help whilst in England. Anyway I wish all our French friends a very Happy Christmas and a safe and fun New Year. Toodlepip as we say!!
Here I am on said occasion changing it!!

And a happy one to you as well!
Next time, do not go so far and drop down to us - not only can I give you a gite to stay in, you have a two post lift for any running repairs - I do not want any visitor getting gravel rash...

I have been a member of Club Lotus France for a few years now. The main benefits,
1, if you are into track days, there are several of them in all regions each year. Including one every second year at the old banked circuit at Montlhery near Paris. There are enough classics in the club for there to be seperate sessions for them
2,At the Le Mans classic the club has a huge display with parking for club memebrs in the circuit. Also an excellent lunch
3, The people are great, very friendly and knowledgeable about Lotus Cars. Including several specialists
4, There are some really good road trips organised, with a splendid lunch
I can't reccomend it enough.

Hi Martin,
may i add n°5 the Club Web site with different sections including one for Elans and +2s.
Biggest following is Elise and 7s + Track days.
There are about 20 Elan +2s in the club and Serge is a nice Guy.
I was in the Club Lotus France about 20 Years ago.
Now i have a weakness for Classic TVR "M" series also.
So i tend to prefer multi make Car Clubs.

Hello,
The French Club Lotus may not be as great as the British clubs, but it is still very active, especially for those who drive their cars.
Those who follow the European Lotus Cup know that many french drivers were members of the Club before being racing drivers ...
The Classic Lotus group and Serge tries to involve the classics owners members in the activities of the club ... Yes, Le Mans Classic is a top event, but from spring to late fall there are many occasions, on the road or on track ...
Yes 60 € is quite expensive, but next to the quarterly magazine, as a member you have priority access to events, at club prices, the site is "private and without advertising" ... Better use all these advantages.
I have been a member of the French Club since I own "Old English White", but I was a member of LotusElan.net a few weeks before. I think there are so few of us that being alone can be difficult, except being an accomplished mechanic. This is the reason I still pay for my club card each year, and can't wait for meeting club friends I made thru the years. But, as in any clubs anywhere in the world, you get that you give.
Christian.
