I took my brave pills earlier, I stopped taking the intellect pills after the first page of this topic.

Dear Sirs,
With regret, I cannot accept the role for 2 reasons.
1. I am taller than Richard Hammond by some margin, but could be likened to him for squirelling away Lotus parts, but not in my mouth. Shame, some will no doubt say.
2. My time is already allocated to the good causes I support.
Sorry to disappoint the board at this time, but thanks for the offer.
In my place, could I put forward Elanfan1 for these reasons. Much more suitable height wise, it would be good to have a foreign accent on the show, and he could keep us up to date with the exchange rate between our two countries.
Yours faithfully,
Blah blah blah

Or alternatively forget about the rubbish.
I promise you all, if Clarkson disappears from view and Top Gear fades into history the world will go on turning and who knows, programme makers may just come up with something better

Oh do cheer up baby! I'll be bigoted if I can't have some fun with this topic, Leslie posted a reply and I have to tell you that I wasted no time reading it

Don't mind me old chap. Last thing I would ever wish to do is stop anyone having fun. Long may it continue.
That said, I don't like bullies. I have suffered bullying in both my school and early working life and it ain't funny at all. (It wouldn't happen now I can assure you)
I merely express an opinion and it's good riddance to him say I. In a civilised society we don't go around punching and abusing each other and it shouldn't be acceptable. There should have been no procrastination, he should have been instantly dismissed.
That's all, I'm done............have fun
PS: It makes me wince every time I read it Leslie. Baby my *rse.

If your response was sharper I would say Touch?, but I'm afraid it only warrants touchy.
One assumes that you are writing for yourself? Would the use of "we" be an attempt at aggrandisement your majesty?

Nothing sharp about me and I'm nobody's majesty
I'm happy with touchy Alan It's a subject I feel quite passionate about. I abhor violence in whatever form it takes and I'm not about to make exceptions for so called celebrities.
No it's not the Royal we. My opinions however wrong or misguided are my own. I was assuming that the majority on this forum and in the wider community are decent people and not bullies?
as Willow Rosenberg would say "Bored now"

John,
My reply wasn't directed at your good self whom I genuinely hold in high esteem.
You will note that I quoted 512BB Leslie and it was him I was replying to.
Now stop getting bored and stop yawning, there's going to be a crash very soon and everyone is looking forward to seeing it, pay attention

It's officially announced this morning that Chris Evans is to be the new host of Top Gear with a complete new line up.
no May, no Hamster,
Unclear as to whether The Stig is dropped
Chris Evans is a really good presenter with a history of following "hard acts to follow" and making a huge success, his Radio 2 breakfast show eclipsed Terry Wogan's audience figures within a month and has stayed at top spot ever since. A great character who divides opinion.... now where have I heard that before and about whom?

I think I'll have to sit on the fence on this one.....I remember quite clearly the morning when the radio alarm switched on to be awoke by bells and whistles and ranting and raving...long gone was Terry Wogan and his gentle Irish brogue and calming tone
Well I suppose he is a " petrol head " with more money than sense but how many cover versions have turned out better than the originals?
Not to mention he's a Ginger B*st*rd

I'll sit firmly the other side - I remember him on Radio 1 and the original TFI Friday - Noise and stupidity.

I hope so - Talk about stale!
But then I'm unlikely to watch it, or F1 ... or Eastenders.
Glad I missed it!

Having seen Chris Evans' career over the last decades or two - he does some shows I enjoy & some I don't.
I try not to get too dogmatic on things like this. I'll watch it. If I find I don't like it anymore then I'll stop watching it. Quite simple really !!!
