Good to see he's as good with a mallet as he is with a pencil! I suppose he had to turn his hand to something now no-one commissions cutaway artwork anymore
Thanks for the link Pete

I just wish that I had 1% of the skills of Shin Yoshikawa....I believe that he's a concert pianist as well?!
I totally agree Jon that the Toyota 2000GT is a breathtakingly beautiful car, but at some angles there is something that jars! Maybe those big spotlights don't do it any favours? I'm surprised that nobody has made one as a kit car yet, with modern Japanese twin turbo nutter power....now that could be quite a tool!

In 2007 at the Monterey Historics, Toyota had a big display and there was a special gathering all parked in the "coral" about 22 of them lined up in a row, it was kind of impressive site, but I guess I didn't relish the moment as I didn't get one photo. Maybe someone else was there and did. I feel bad about it now as I didn't think twice about it till now. Sorry guys, if I had known

I've been brushing up my knowledge, and you may have seen the biggest collection in one place, Gary! Only 60 went to the USA the first time around, although I bet there are a few more there now. 351 'regular production cars' were made, and by Yamaha not Toyota, spread around the world, and they cost more than a Jag or a Porsche when new.
Shin Yoshikawa also wrote the book about the Toyota 2000GT....I hope it's the same Japanese / English as on his website, which is great fun to read!
And there's one for sale in Germany at the moment. Form an orderly queue, and have ?245,000 ready

But I may have found a satisfying alternative, at least, to look at:

I didn't know the production figures but knew it was small. I had never seen one before or since. The problem for me was limited camera battery and storage (half a gig and 3 days at the event with no recharge possible as I was sleeping in my F250 with Beau, Beau was in the pits all weekend until one of the course workers spotted him and tried to kick us out, I kept him over with Don and Trisha (MkIX) for the rest of Saturday and left early Sunday at noon.

I think this could have been a gorgeous car but... what were they thinking of when they did those front lights and grille?
Cheers,
Pete.

Always thought this a was a neat looking car but it only came with a puny engine; I believe that some folks have addressed that issue in recent times.
Cheers,
Pete.
