RIP Edmundo...

What's the connection? Tenuous...but he WAS there in '62, and I noticed the issue date of the film: 49 years ago today!!

Slightly embarassed to say I'm not familiar with Ros and his works

But what a briliant old clip of film, fantastic cars one and all ......soon after that time it all started to go wrong.

Commom Market my ****

Love the voice over, love the nostalgia, love the sexism makes me so proud to have lived through a time when we could call ourselves English (assuming you are of course :) )

I do wish these films were in the public domain after all these years and to be honest I wonder why they aren't?

Amazing ! ( like being 10 years old again ).

Seeing the 3 litre Rover I now know where the Sprint colour scheme came from....

Richard,

Jumped the gun a little, I think. Edmundo died yesterday (21st Oct) at the age of 100. :(

So its definately RIP Edmundo today.

I'm the same, I've looked at quite a few of the 60s/70s clips on the Pathe site.

I was even prepared to shell out cash to be able to compile a few clips onto a DVD for our telly, but the prices they ask are out of all proportion for what's after all just a hobby. That clip for instance was up at ?50, ?50 for a 6 minute clip ? All I can say is I'm glad Harry Potter dvds aren't on the same ?/minute scale !

Looks like a piece of copper pipe for the fuel hose on those Webbers (about 5:20 in )...

Not sure I'd appreciate those 'Lovelies' sitting on my bodywork!

Thanks for the link Brian but that's such a low res'/low bitrate clip it's fairly unpleasant to watch

Reminded me of sitting in the back of the Regal Cinema quite a few (don't you just love diplomacy!) years ago... Very distinctive voice overs..

Great bit of film. Thanks for the link.

I usually go off half-cocked  But, point of order...I didn't know when, exactly, the late great Edmundo had passed. I happened to see the coincidence of yesterday (22nd) being the 49th "anniversary" of the film being issued...and that Mr.Ros had featured in it.

Issue Date: 22/10/1962 Sound: Yes
Time in: 01:13:53:00 Time out: 01:20:14:00
Canister: 62/85 Film ID: 1735.02
Sort number: 62/085 Tape: *PM1735

So, something less than a year to go for the Elans 50th...

What are you two on? Bananas? :x What's the connection here?

AFAIK Harry Belafonte was NOT at the '62 Motor Show, or any other come to that!

...or was I asleep when he was featured in the film?
