Seems to be no end to the September issue.
Not really what I think of when I look at a Lotus magazine but they are one solid ride. I owned a 64 and 65 190D Benz beaters, they were real tired when I got them but it was a great shit box. 3 gallons diesel plus 3 quarts of oil per 100 miles at 82 mph top speed. My first full night working the graveyard shift at DEC in Mar 1980, I came out in the morning ready to leave work at 6:30 am. When I started it up the guy at the front desk saw the smoke cloud and sent someone out with a fire extinguisher. I just laughed as I drove away. I have a photo some where of the beater, a real classic but I couldn't find it. I'll post it if I come across it...

Gary,
I'm loving every minute of these posts. BMC Mini, bullet proof Mercs. You obviously have the bug for reading through them now
One day I will rebuild another Mini and try to keep it pure to the original design intentions with regards to the interior. I won't be able to resist tweaking the mechanicals, but only porting, polishing and uprating here and there using period upgrades.
Thanks again. If i go quiet for a while it's just because I am absorbed in all this old stuff
Regards
