Laundry day again and I did a search to see when the last laundry day was. I re-read the post and just wondered.

NOT true!
It's amazing how much valuable spin-off info comes from the odd "thought starter"!
(Soap Box mode: When the Yahoo list, being changed to this forum, was being dicussed I felt an element of "serendipity" could be lost. At that time much good stuff resulted from side issues (thread drift?) and a lot of ground was covered in short space of time)

Well you've lost me there Gary!
How can you get the Monday blues on a Friday?
Hopefully my post didn't give cause for your desperation
You do use some interesting terms of speech:-
Laundry day = ? (Doing the wash)
Playing Slimeball = ? (tossing the tennis ball for Beauregard)
Educate me please
How's man's best friend doing, has that wound healed now? you must not have seen day44 photo over in your monocoque topic
Cheers
John
We speak 2 languages and its not been helping this forum, well I think its diversity has been lost. If you don't think so go back a few years and read those that contributed. Many gone from here (maybe lurking) as there is just to much shit that is useless to many being discussed.
those are my thought, yours are different I am sure.

Laundry Day up here was Monday traditionally and you could tell because driving down the Don Vally Parkway the Don River was bubbling up with soap bubble froth at the small water falls . The bubbles went from bank to bank ...ed

An Elan was always in the back of my mind, but there was no way I could afford the price. But I did want something with a bit of punch and had to settle on a S7. When doing my part during the unpleasantness in SE Asia a few decades ago, a stop in Hong Kong brought a vendor on board the ship, offering about any car you could think of from England/Europe, delivered at the factory or shipped to the US. Your choice.
The S7 was available in kit form at a much reduced price and the total cost, delivered to Long Beach, CA was just $2200. The Elan was also available in kit form, but was out of my price range. Months later, it finally arrived, soon after I had separated from the Uncle Sam Tour Company.
It was only about 6 years ago, that the idea of getting an Elan raised its ugly head. Some friends and I were doing the initial test of a just restored Fjr at a local race track, when at diner, I was asked if I wanted my old S7 or my 289 Cobra back. Thought about it for a minute and replied that I had enjoyed both, but would not like to have them back again. The Cobra was completely unthinkable. Asked what I would like to have in a vintage sports car, I replied, a Lotus Elan S2. Without missing a bite of his diner, my friends son replied that one of the people who worked for him had one for sale, that was in the latter stages of a restoration, but not complete. A price was mentioned, and the reality of owning the Elan became a definite possibility.
Photos were sent and the deal was made and the trailer was hooked up for a trip from San Diego to Brighton, MI to pick up the car. Everything has been wonderful since. Gets better every time I drive if. Think a trip to Cars and Coffee in Irvine, is in the plans for tomorrow. Have not been there in a long time.

I wanna Elan because they are Fun!
I want to discuss Elans because the folks I know (that don't own or want one) are sick and tired of my Elan talk. So I came here thinking those that OWN them would like to talk with others about them. What I find is they want to talks shit, change the subject or not reply at all and not much about Lotus Elans. Go Figure!
