I called in at Paul Mattys today to pick up a few parts for the rebuild, I was very surprised to be told that they would not be attending Donnington this year.

Susan Miller will be there this year; first time in two years. So it says on her website:
"The Lotus Festival Weekend at Donington will soon be upon us. ( 18th and 19th April) We shall have a stand there again- the first time for two years, so we are looking forward to seeing friends and customers, old and new.
We shall,of course , be taking a wide range of Elan goodies, but there are always lots of parts we forget. So if you need anything special let us know in advance. It is a good way to save carriage costs and also see the range of items we can offer. We have a few new items, so have a look at our News Section."

Did anyone set up a convoy from "the South"?
I am near Emsworth, so could link up with Guildford / Woking / Wokingham / etc areas.
Probably take the Elise as I have never taken the Elan that far yet! And the Elan could do with a taller diff for the motorway....

Hello guys,
My wife and I are setting off on Friday to stay at the Travell inn just along the road at the airport. More than likely using the eastside (A1) route down from Scotland. We will be there Friday and Sat' nights. Anyone else there? Will be attending both days. Not sure yet about using Elan. Main worry is security. Any tips? Can you safely leave the car and return to it as you left it? Cover it overnight? Anti theft devices? etc. All advice welcome and will help with the decision.
Safer to use something else? Wife's Z4 would be weapon of choice if not my Elan
I am looking forward to meeting up with a few of you for a good natter......

There have been incidents of Lotus being stolen from the display area outside the exhibition centre but not in the recent past.
A secure parking area is also provided for those feeling the need of it, ask Club Lotus.
I've parked my Elan in the display area a few times without problems; others with more valuable cars also do so.
Overnight could be a problem, there are some strange folk in Donington village.
I've got B&B there at the bottom of the village for Saturday night & will be around for most of both days, if I don't get too bored.
Regards meeting fellow LotusElan.net guys, that's a matter of pure chance, like trying to herd cats
Cheers
John

If you do manage to herd a bunch of you together, how 'bout a group pic for the rest of us here in the lotuselan.net community.

Greg,
I can't believe that you'd actually want pictures of us. Just stare at a picture of an Elan; far less horrifying.
Gino,
we've tried a meeting place & message book in the past; not a resounding success
How about this as a suggestion:- Meet up at the "Club Lotus" stand at 2pm (14:00) on Saturday & Sunday
Let's get some feedback / better ideas.
Cheers
John

Hi John,
Ok, good Idea as I wish to become a member of the Lotus Club this year, following the footpaths of my other Italian Lotus friends from Turin who have joined the club just recently.
See you soon,
Ciao
Gino
