Who has had their Covid vaccine then?

My wife and I received our first shot 10 days ago. There was a bit of a mashup when people who had not made appointments as required, or did not meet the requirements for getting early access crashed the line. The result was the location ran our of vaccine before about 150 people who met requirements were still in line. The fault lay with the sign in process, where proof of appointment time and required qualifications were not checked.
The required doses were eventually brought forth and all those waiting received their shot, all be it several hours later.
The best part of the long wait, was a conversation with a gentleman just ahead of me in line. The conversation turned to cars, years, and makes. A photo was shown to me of a Elva Courier being raced at the old/missed Riverside in turn 6. When I looked at the photo and identified the car and the location, the then owner was shocked that anyone would know that information. When I replied that I owned a Elva Courier Mk4T coupe he was quite surprised, and further surprised that I was racing my Lotus S7 in the same time frame. A surprise encounter that made the long wait quite nice.

He was almost speechless. After I posted the above, our wonderful daughter texted that she had made appointments for us to receive our second Covid shot on 2/9, which has provided some positive relief.

I live on the Welsh/English border.
I had a phone call telling me that I would be jabbed in a weeks time.
Drew up on the doc surgery car park and a nurse came over and ushered me in.
Quizzed me about any symptoms (none), took my temp.
I was jabbed and given next appointment card, 2 sheets of Astrazeneca advice and was back in the car in less than 5 mins. Wow
Super, slick organization

Well that’s not how it should have been. Normally you should be asked to wait 15 mins post jab in case of any adverse reaction.

Not with the AZ vaccine, or as one patient said, that Vauxhall Astra vaccine

Had mine last Saturday, Pfizer, and my wife is booked for next Saturday; I'm 77 and she's 74. I think our surgery is working down the birth date list as you have to enter it to book in at the surgery.
My 81 year old sister in New Zealand expects her's in May but they have compulsory isolation on incoming flights whereas we've let 20 million in and out without even testing them, it seems.
Stay safe with or without it, folks.
ps Just found my rear bumper (fender) is stoved in, tow-bar height, though it hardly shows or matters.

A new vaccination centre opens in Tonbridge on Monday ( next town to Tunbridge Wells) my wife is now booked in for both jabs starting Monday with the second in April.
The Covid news all appears to be positive at the moment, unfortunately people are still dying in large numbers, but cases and hospitalisations are falling significantly.
It will be amazing when the UK is in a position to donate vaccines and resources to other countries who are lagging behind through no fault of their own, none of us are really safe until everyone has had their jabs.
Well done and thanks to all involved in this superb rollout

Had my second Pfizer on 19th March, the wife one day later.
My eldest daughter 25 had hers this morning, my twins 21 are having theirs this afternoon no health conditions. It’s inexplicable how when I know 40 miles away 60 year olds haven’t had theirs. They’re having Oxford Astra Zeneca, I’m expecting lots of complaints that they don’t feel well. There is a 30 page thread on Pistonheads about vaccine side effects, most seem to be about OAZ. there seems to be more of a reaction if you’ve had Covid. My son has had it so I won’t tell him until after he’s had the jab

Here in the USA things vary quite a bit. Vaccine distribution is up to the individual states and some have done better than others. I live in Georgia, which is in last place for distribution.
We have a multi-phased distribution plan (you can look it up at the CDC site if you’re really bored), and Georgia has been stuck in the first phase all the while until about a week ago when it went from Phase 1a to ‘1a+,’ allowing those aged 55-up to be eligible instead of 65-up as it had been. At age 52 and with no other conditions that put me in 1a, I’m basically at the back of the line with most people. At the rate it’s been going in Georgia, I figured I should have it sometime around 2030. That said, my job requires a lot of travel and therefore has huge potential for me to be a spreader, so I think that people in similar circumstances should be moved up the line a bit, especially those of us who support essential industries.
Then this morning our governor announced that all Georgians will eligible for vaccine as of tomorrow. Appointments were already difficult to get in more populated areas, so I cringe at the potential for chaos here.
This brings me back to distribution. It’s been said in the news lately that there should be more than enough doses for everybody in USA very soon, but given my observations of the distribution, that doesn’t really mean much.

Hope they are okay Steve, I felt really washed out for 2 days although I didn't feel any effects until the day after the vaccination, my wife was the same. We were both unwell in late February last year, flu like symptons for a couple of days that went away quickly so we most likely had Covid and it's widely mentioned that those getting the vaccine who have had Covid get more marked side effects.

I wonder if I had some early variant back in October 2019. I had some kind of viral crud; don't recall all the symptoms clearly but I felt terrible and my sense of taste didn't go away but did malfunction quite a bit.
