Sad for me to see the Rapier DN181 will be destroyed by the Swiss . Not given to Ukraine.
I did the QC Control when we Marconi Defence Systems Portsmouth sold 65 Trackers to the Swiss in the 1980s.
If they were given to Ukraine it would have seemed i had helped Ukraine.

Sure John,
but they bought 65 Rapier Blind Fire DN181 to defend themselves and say they are neutral.
So the same logic can be used to give them to Ukraine to defend themselves as a neutral country. they are only defending.
I helped make these and they are defensive as used in the Falklands War to defend us. We worked round the clock to replace the ones that got sunk in the ships.
We had some ready to sell to Iran but then the Shar was overthrown so we cancelled the sale. Painted them a different colour and sold them to Quatar. We sold also to Turkey and also for the "Sixth Wing" US base in south of Turkey.
The Swiss Trackers are a little different as they can also track in depression not just in elevation. They cost at the time about £600,000 each so not cheap even for the bankers of Zurich.
Cheers

If they detected an incoming missile they would respond by throwing a Toblerone back...

The 65 Rapier Systems DN 181 i was QC Mechanical Engineer at Marconi Space and Defence Broadoak Works Portsmouth.
For the Swiss it could look down in depression into the Valleys from mountain positions. So better in a high position to see low flyers easier. Easily mobile and towed behind a Landrover. The Generator was the old coventry climax like in an Elite 14 / fire pump but more robust.

Video of the Russian jets harassing and crashing the US drone, in case you haven't seen it...

Of course, Putin and Lavrov will say it it was faked.

I've just dusted off a bottle of Champagne to celebrate when they put the Lampost to good use.

Now, the governor of the Lipetsk region, north of Voronezh, said Wagner troops are moving through the region.
Moscow lies only 400km (248 miles) north - take a look at the map below to orient yourself.
It's not clear how many troops Wagner has in each place, or how large the group seen in Lipetsk was.
