Concerns over this particular virus I think is due to the fact there is no antiviral medication (vaccine) available to help prevent serious complications, if you get it you’re on your own.

Not quite true but only early day trials going on at the moment: -

The above quote is from http://www.natap.org although similar reports are on many science /medical sites. Chloroquine in particular is commonly available as it's been a std anti malarial drug for many years. The other drug mentioned, remdesivir, was originally developed as an anti Ebola drug but its mechanism of action seems to also be effective against coronavirus. Well from midday today the European frontiers are closed. So that will mean now UK is out of the European community big problems for British people who live half of their time in UK and the other half in Europe.
Here in France for at least 15 days you need a special reason to move around and a special paper to justify it.
Like Macron has announced it's the War against the Coronavirus.

Yes, our town (Alpe D'Huez) is now closed until further notice. Everyone there on vacation had to be out by 4.00pm on Sunday and most businesses are now closed as well. Pity the virus only affects people; I don't see it having any affect on our tax bills.

Yes the Virus has spread considerably and mainly in the northern part of Italy.
Last Saturday many fled the north going back to their hometowns in the South of Italy stupidly carrying the virus with them, now the virus has also hit the south.
Intensive care is limited and now rumours are saying there is the awful choice of who they should save and who not
The old aged are worst hit being the most vulnerable.
From last week many companies have closed for at least two weeks, schools have now been closed a month, we are now all confined to our homes and have to justify why and where we are going.
Many people have been fined for travelling without proper reason.
The emphasis is now on self-protection and the use of a surgical mask when in the presence of others.
Mask and gloves when at the supermarket or where you have to touch many different surfaces.

There's now a Black market for masks and hand gel ...!!

The majority of deaths occur to people who already have other illnesses, Corona Virus just finishes them off .

Actually Rohan productivity will be affected as many companies have shutdown for at least two weeks now.
Many companies are Smart working but that's not much help when you're a manufacturer.

Many shops are closed and only supermarkets and the local food shops are open everything else has been shutdown.

I live in a small town in the South of Milano with a population of 9000 people and it's a ghost town.
You wake up in the morning and you see some bloke covered up to his eyeballs spraying your house with disinfectant.

I am working this week but next week i have to stay at home and when i'm in the company I have to wear a face mask all day.

Latest projection is that this could kill up to 250000 people in the UK. I’m very much in the vulnerable element of the population so give it a few months and there maybe some cheaper parts going!!

There's optimism and there's optimism. Earlier on I read a post on another forum from somebody in their 70's with what sounds like considerable 'underlying health issues' looking forward to a glut of cheap post virus classic motorcycles hitting the market later this year ...

250,000 people dying sounds like some kind of dystopian version of the battle of the Somme (as if the original wasn't dystopian enough) where instead of forcing teenagers over the top at bayonet point we're pushing pensioners into the firing line. At this rate it'll only be a matter of time before some kind of macabre poster of Boris morphed into a latter day Lord Kitchener appears, with his finger pointing accusatorially at us, saying it's our duty to catch the bug to save the women and children. May, as the Chinese say, you live in interesting times.

Was anyone else thinking with the very mild winter here in the uk we were always going to get hit with a bad strain of the flu? just glad it's not the Norovirus thats spreading.
