Loctite - is it faked?

Stocking up on a few things, Loctite 518 being one. Normally 20+€, but I came across AliExpress selling it for under 8€ Surely this cannot be? Are the fakers so desperate that they have to send us rip off Loctite products- OR, are Loctite margins so high, that large retailers such as AliExpress can do this...

I recently purchased a fairly specialist Loctite product from a reputable tool supplier. On receipt we found that there was no batch number printed on the bottle. After enquiries with the manufacturer we concluded it was counterfeit.
In my industry there is significant concern about fake / counterfiet goods getting into the supply chain. This extends for fasteners through injection moulded parts to NDE chemicals.
Be careful!

Hi
I'm in HK at the moment and used to live here. In my experience you would need to be very suspicious. Its possible that the package will in fact contain a locktite type solution, but you can be reasonably sure it will not be of the same quality.
If its too good to be true.......

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.

As others have said, almost every product is, or can be faked.
For thread locking there are products from several other companies that are equal or equivalent to Loctite, many at lower prices.
