WD40 Alternatives

It's been said many times that WD40 isn't really a penetrating oil. It was supposedly formulated to disperse water (for example, on damp mornings from your distributor cap or points) hence "WD" meaning "Water Disperser".
I've used a german product called "Rustlosser" or some such, and tried a mixture of acetone and hydraulic steering fluid. In my case it didn't work (it was one of the Spyder front suspension mounting spindles that had siezed) and I had to take the car to Spyder on a flat bed to get it sorted. But that's another story and pretty long it is too!
