Lifting S4 on Two Post Ramp

I never do it on my car, seen too many corner floor cracks - if you really have to do it, you may try your luck at the 4 inner corners of the wheelarches, spreading the load on an extended surface (not just the small pivoting pad one finds on most 2 post lifts) and with rubber material to avoid point stress at the contact.

Then you would need to spend that much time in each cab to remember what’s in there
I installed my maxjax with the hydraulic lines going up to the ceiling, so the pump/motor are mounted on the wall. Not a tripping or failure point. I had to extend on of the hoses about the same length or $60.
I also, after hearing too much glass fibre cracking, reinforced the floor on one car. Then realized, the best point for a 2 post hoist/lift pick up is near the bobbins and closer to the frame. So I’ve extended the arms on the maxjax with the sockets for the feet & rubber pads.

I installed my MaxJax when I was in my early 70's, about 10 years ago when crawling under the car got to be near impossible. There is absolutely no problem when lifted at the strong points at the wheel arches as per the photos Phil took of his car at my place.
Maximum lift is 4 ft. from floor - perfect for brake and suspension work - I use a rolling adjustable height shop stool for under car work on my S1.
I am building up a '72 sprint coupe on a new Spyder chassis and it allows body on and off the frame to be a breeze exercise - and it all fits under a 8 ft. ceiling. and leaves a parking spot below.
Plus it is priced right - U cant loose.

I agree except for "and leaves a parking spot below." while technically true, the number of cars that fit under the MaxJax arms at full lift is pretty limited. My Plus 2 does not fit, My S1 Esprit with sagged suspension just fits by about 2 mm. I normally park my trailer underneath - that fits
I would not be without my MaxJax now and spent time recently looking at installing a second, so I had one for short term work and servicing ( mainly my Elan) and one for longer term body off restorations. However my garage is not wide enough to do it and have decent access around them so decided to set up a body hoist system for the long term restorations using 4 cheap 1 tonne chain hoists off the roof rafters to lift the bodies as needed.
