tie rod ball housing

Upon inspection the housing has a small lip where the ball will sits in the outer section of the housing, opposite end to nylon ball cup.

The nylon cup was absolutely munted and was spreading down the ball, I cannot see any wear marks on the ball, just some very light polishing.

I will upload a photo tonight, appreciate any thoughts as they do not seem to exist from any of the normal parts suppliers
