Hi George,
I bought some cheapo chinese ones from ebay, small size, for £16.00
They were well made and excellent. For my Elan the screws were a bit too long and would have fouled the body so I made some brass sleeves to go under the head end to shorten their effective length. I have used them several times with no snags.
It is a small car with small springs; they do not need to be `strong`,

Hi George
Have got a non-standard rear suspension? With the standard set you can't take the rear legs off the car without first fitting the spring compressor. If you do you'll lose the springs as there's nothing to hold the top spring cup in place once the top nut is removed and the weight is lifted off the suspension.
Regards
Andy
