Only 'D' Rated in the wet though, likewise for economy which is a bit of a shame. I also can't see where it shows the actual inflated diameter or circumferance of the tyre which can vary a lot with the various makes of tyre. 'H' rated though which is plus point!

I need new tires and realistically very little when driving will be done
in the rain. I’m not familiar with the D ratings and wonder what rating would a tyre of the time have been?

Tyres in the UK for some years now have been rated 'A','B','C' or 'D' for Performance in Dry conditions, Wet Performance conditions and also Fuel Economy in addition to a db measurement( Decibel) for road noise .
An 'A' rating being the best in each area. 'D' obviously being not so good.
Back in the 1960's and 70's there weren't any consumer tyre performance measurement comparisons to my knowledge.

From the quoted page these appear only rated for wet, not dry performance conditions :

Fuel Efficiency D
Wet Grip D
External Noise Class A
External Noise Value (dB) 67

would anyone know how they fare on the dry ?

I decided to give them a whirl, i am quite happy with the look of them but can’t comment on performance as my car is now at the menders having the engine fixed after years of going nowhere.
