elan sprint - brake servo required?

PostPost by: andyj007 » Sat May 15, 2021 7:00 am

Im Thinking of removing the servo.. my thoughts are that its not really needed, would free up space and tidy the engine bay.. of which i am removing my engine for a rebuild this weekend..
my elise didnt have one , and i loved the pedal feel.

any input much appreciated, or picture in the bay with it gone and if you did anything special with teh space.. perhaps a swirl pot ?

I totally agree : less is more !

less weight, less sources of trouble, less contraptions between the driver and the road...

I would be important to get the right master cylinder bore diameter for adequate pedal feel (11/16" on my '68 s4 se stock without servo)

Federal Sprints do not have Brake servos. With dual brakes they would have needed 2 & there simply isn't room.

The brakes are extremely good!
