On the Elan Sprint, the steering column can be locked with the ignition key. What model was it originally taken from?
I want to know these parts in detail because I must be missing one (of) parts? to hold the connection box at its end !
Maybe know some for sale ?

Geni, do you mean the plastic cover that fits over the back of the colum mounted ignition switch:
It's a Triumph part (GT6, Spitfire), but as far I am aware the cover is not available as a seperate part.

Hello nerds and gents,
Allow me to repeat myself ( goes with the age )
The contact ( or the round switch ) is secured by a very tiny selftapping screw .
Have a close look at the housing and you will see a very small hole for the screw . This passes througt this hole and screws into the contact thus securing it.
A good plastic surround cover will be able to keep things in place without screw .
Once loosened and it is gone !
I have never been able to locate a new screw this size but ofcourse they do excist.
Alternatively you could go up in size but take care not to let swarf entering the contact.
