A have the girling .7 master brake cylinder for my +2 with single servo. The screw cap looks like it is giving up and needs replacement. Anyone recommend a good alternative complete unit.

Is there anything wrong with the master cylinder itself apart from a battered looking cap?
You can get replacement caps for these, they're much cheaper than replacing the entire unit.

Does anyone know where you can get just the replacement screw cap for the Sovy brake unit on the master cylinder on a +2? Mine too is in poor shape.

Nicolas,
Anorak question...Do you happen to know whether the Sovy 36J6069M could be used on a large reservoir Girling 5/8" brake master cylinder ?
This looks very similar to the ones fitted to E-types (but shorter).
Thanks
Andrew

Hello Andrew,
I can't check much stuck as I am (no access to master cylinder or E-type parts), but as far as I know the Sovy for E-types and Lotus are of the same diameter and cap thread, only the length differs (the E-type being approx 32mm deeper inside the tank).
