Wheels for racing Elan

Hello there guys

I'm looking to fit 185 avon ZZR or Nankang NS2Rs on my elan this season, meaning i need a new set of wheels.
My elan has the smaller springs in the rear, but i'm wondering if 5.5in will be too wide to fit on, any suggestions to where i should be looking? or where i could buy a set with the correct offsets ro let me run a tyre this wide?

Do you have stock flares? If you do have stock flares the two tires you selected on 5.5 inch rims I expect will not fit unless you can find an offset that moves the rim inwards. Clearance to the narrow springs is not the problem but to the body flares is. The minimum rim size for the Avon ZZR 185/55 and the Nankang NS2R 185/60 is 5.5 inch.

I have Toyo R888R 185/60 on TTR 5 inch 26r rims. 5 inch is the minimum rim size for these tires. A very tight fit but they do fit the stock S4 flares with narrow rear springs and rack limiters in the front. The Toyo R888R is also E and DOT marked. I find them a great performance tire. Undoubtedly not great on longevity however.

The ZZR was a brilliant tyre on the Exige. I've recently put Avon CR6ZZ on the Elan. I've not driven it yet but they fit nicely (TTR shell, 6" 26R wheels)

simon - i 've been using these brand rims (4,5") and 175 60 13 tyres and everything fits (stock S3 body) sandy
PS - if u want these rims you can have em (no give away however: maybe trade??)
