Lotacone

PostPost by: Wevster » Thu Oct 18, 2018 8:04 pm

Hi all,

Anyone had difficulty?s taking their lotacones out? After stripping out the whole rear strut assembly/spring/damper etc, it just left the lotacone held in by 2 bolts, after I removed them it moved say 1/4 inch and can be wiggled but won?t drop out. Interestingly mine look different to the new replacements having 4 fixings holes rather than 2. Any ideas?

Kev.

Hi

The lotocone should only have two fixings.

The one you have does not look original spec so maybe it just needs a big tug or tap from above to release it.

Good luck.

That?s what I thought, I have tried tapping the metal tube part with a punch with no luck. Wondered if they were a 2 part configuration squashed together? Seem to be in good condition so may leave them be. Didn?t want to damage, may have been put in by P.O. when rear screen was out.

Kev,

Whilst it may be the wrong one, they do say ?if it ain?t broke, don?t fix it?.

A merry dilemma.

Good luck.

Couldn?t agree more, just not an expensive item but a real pain if it needs changing once everything else in back in situ. It would be nice to inspect it properly as can?t quite see it all. Need to think about it, off to the pub then.

Cheers
