Strut insert

PostPost by: pereirac » Tue Apr 24, 2018 3:12 pm

After about 50k miles I suspect one of my Komi inserts is leaking. Does anybody know what size c spanner I need to remove the cap on top of the strut? I assume I can remove the insert without removing my doughnuts, just by compressing the spring, removing the top bolt, disconnecting the calliper and rotation the whole assembly?

Any opinions on Gaz inserts, I havez Gaz shocks on the front and f?ter a year they still seem ok.
I know I could get the Koni ones rebuilt, but that would mean waiting with the car in bits!

Thanks
Carl

I suspect that the drive shaft won't allow enough sag/rotation to do what you want.
It's just possible that you could remove the lotocones and remove through the turret.
I reckon you'll end up releasing 3 donut bolts. Might not be the end of the world if you put jubilee clips on first.
