What front calipers belong on an S3

I'm into rebuilding my front calipers on 5727 and find that one is a 16P and the other is a 16PB. The
SS brake line is also routed in a dangerous way, ie, rubbing on the lower part of the upper arm.
So, is a 16X caliper correct? And can someone post a pic or two showing how the flex brake line
is supposed to run?

The 16p or 16pb calipers are for the +2 Elan. Many owners like me have fitted 16p or 16pb to baby Elans to improve the front brakes. Of course that includes fitting the +2 brake disks also.
Imho it's a good improvement and you can run the car without a brake servo.
The difference between the 16p and the 16pb are the pistons and seals. Also one caliper the 16pb may have metric threads for the brake pipe connection
So it seems you have improved brakes on your S3

The type 14 caliper was standard on all Elans (excepting the S1). There are two variants, according to the position of the hose attachment: one is concentric with the inboard piston, whereas the other is at the top of the caliper (ie next to the top mounting bolt); other than the hose position the fit is the same. I don't know which type is correct for your car. The position obviously also affects the hose route. With the centre position you can see the route here: http://images.lotuselan.net/lel/21518/0/P1010168.JPG
I can't find a good picture of the alternative position.
To re-fit these instead of the existing type 16, you'll need to get the smaller original discs and caliper brackets.

I fitted the 16 type to my Sprint and i'm well pleased. I have keep the original 14 type to stay with the car.

Thanks guys! I'll either find one 16P or 16PB to match the other and will probably figure out a banjo fitting
type arrangement for the lines. The center entry type 14 with a banjo looks proper, however going back
to a type 14 will still mean a change in rotors /discs and maybe spindles and mounts.
