Handbrake Help

PostPost by: CG901 » Wed Aug 30, 2017 6:51 pm

As I am reassembling my S3, having totally removed the handbrake components over a year ago, find I may be missing something. The arrow in the photo may have retained a ball bearing which made a successful escape during the removal. Not sure its function other than to hold it secure.
I have the workshop manual and looked for similar posts but most don't visit this part of the handbrake.
Anybody knowledgeable here than can offer some advice?
Thank you.

there is a spring steel part that slips inside the outer sleeve with a pressing that fits fits hole, this maintains pressure on the inner part of the handbrake

Thanks to all who offered assistance. I managed to locate the missing parts and its back in place. Of course, still trying to get the pads to grip sufficiently to function as a proper parking brake!
