collapsible steering column

PostPost by: munro1969 » Wed Mar 30, 2016 9:24 pm

somethings up just went to change my inner steering column shaft and found the replacement is 10" longer but it looks about right from what I can see in the manual and the net, which leaves me wondering what's wrong? does anyone know how long the inner and the outer steering column shafts should be on a +2 as I suspect I've got some sort of triumph mish mash going on?

Hopefully you do, Chunky lifted the original part from the Spitfire assembly ine.

I presume you've addressed the obvious and loosened the pinch bolt to bring the top and bottom together but for a 'safe' collapse zone? If so, then wrong part somewhere.
