Bleed nipple disaster averted

Although not a Lotus item, I thought I would relate an interesting solution to a seized bleed nipple, snapped off flush with the caliper body.. My friend tried to bleed the brakes on his car and snapped off the bleed nipple - oh dear.. Tried an Eezi-out down the body of the nipple - snapped that flush with the caliper as well - oh bu**er. Considered a new caliper (probably what I would have done), but took the item to a local garage & the old boy looked at it and said "no bother". Friend went back an hour later and was handed the caliper minus bleed nipple. What was the magic? Said old boy had put a nut flush to the caliper and flooded the hole with weld. Let it cool a bit & used a spanner on the nut - came out no bother, as he had said.

Apologies if you already know about this dodge, but I was amazed....
