US source for brake caliper plating ?

PostPost by: peg_pilot » Wed Jan 28, 2015 12:26 am

I am in the midst of my wintertime project to rebuild my brake calipers. An old post on this forum (lotus-suspension-f42/best-buy-refurbished-calipers-from-classicar-automotive-t15754.html) sure makes it look appealing to get the calipers plated. Does anyone have a suggestion for a vendor in the US who will do this ?

http://www.goldlinebrakes.com

I think a few people have used these guys. I got a quote but in the end just did it myself. I don't think the quote was too bad but just got a little expensive when you added in two lots of shipping for heavy calipers.

Any plating shop should be able to handle this if you provide them with calipers that have been fully disassembled (halves separated). You can obtain the required small O ring to re-assemble the halves from Pegasus Racing @www.pegasusracing.com.
