Handbrake mounting in LHD +2?

PostPost by: JGeezer » Thu Nov 20, 2014 9:03 pm

Simple question, but I'm puzzled. The +2 handbrake has a three-hole bracket that can rotate to any orientation:

but I can't find any mounting points that match them anywhere under there (not pedal box bolts, steering column, etc.) - in fact, none that will match any two of them.

Can anyone take pity on the poor newbie who got this project already mostly disassembled, and tell me the secret?

My 73 s130 (RHD) just had a single bolt + stack of washer. From memory I extended my additional pedal box bracing out and under the handbrake mounting for extra strength.
'73 +2 130/5 RHD, now on the road and very slowly rolling though a "restoration"

Thanks. OK, tried something like that. I don't like how it wiggles with just the single bolt, and I'll wait till I get the dash back in to see if I like where the handle is or if I want to move it.
