Spring Compressor Front Plus 2

Mike,
As you suggest, at the top of the damper you need some hooks to pull the spring on the first coil.
Here's a pic of what I use. Hmmm, not quite as substantial as yours. :)
You do need to make sure the hooks cannot slip off the spring!!!!
Cheers

O.K...........finally got one done. Had to do more fabing up of some steel. Thank goodness for Oxy/Acetylene and a nice Victor welding set..........turn and burn..............
Now I never need to depend on someone else to mount new springs. Also safe as can be. Since I have the shock inside the spring I don't need to weld in safety cups for the spring to sit in on the 1/2" plate.

Thanks all for the tips and pictures.

John, I stole your idea and incorporated it into my compressor so there is no way the spring can come out and kill me

I took my front dampers to the workshop at work. Two guys struggled, customised, fabricated etc and managed to get one spring apart.... They returned a the pile of bits to me shaking their heads....

So I went home and did this

Snap-on internal compressor OK on standard springs, I use this in combination with the external threaded type.

Or External type provided there is space beside the spring
