Cap Ring for Girling Master Cylinder

Hi, the pressed steel ring screwed to the top of the Girling Master cylinder is a pretty cheap item but my brand new replacement has gone rusty and looks a mess. It is also inclined to leave rusty deposits on the master cylinder body which then have a tendancy to fall into the hydaulic oil.
Is there a plastic alternative for this.
(Note don't have a camera to hand the the ring looks like an old fashioned fruit preserving "jam jar" ring. Just to confuse any readers, here's a picture of a jam jar ring)
Regards
Gerry
Note again, should have said I'm using the clear plastic extension (to allow level checking without introducing air/moisture)

Following on from this, does anyone know a source for the cap ring for 61mm (2.4") diameter master
cylinders? My Plus Two has this size master cylinder.
The cap rings or collars and extension reservoirs sold by Demon Tweeks etc are for 44mm (1.75") diameter cylinders.
Thanks, Graham.
