Rimmer Bros New 16PB Calipers

PostPost by: gerrym » Wed Apr 30, 2008 6:11 pm

For anyone considering upgrading baby Elan front brakes to Plus 2 spec, Rimmers have brand new 16P/16PB calipers in Imperial fittings.
Assuming these are not cheap Chinese copies, price looks pretty keen
Look under TR6, page 21 of price guide/catalogue

Hello,
What's the difference between 16P and 16PB calipers?
Olivier.

Olivier,
main difference that I'm aware of is that the later 16PB caliper has a revised/improved dust sealing arrangment. The piston is difference because of this.
The other thing to watch out for if purchasing 2nd hand calipers (ex Triumph fitment and possibly very late Plus 2s) is the Metric 16PB variant. The lug mounting holes are bigger for special hybrid metric/imperial bolts, the hydraulic connections are M10x1.0 and the bleed screws are metric etc
