How many turns does a trunnion need to be screwed on?

Well just to show you I?m making progress and the suspension is reassembled with the trunnions screwed on approx 15 turns. New machined down hubs installed with new bearings, new brake discs, calipers and pads. The lock rings arrived back today so after bleeding the brakes the Minilte wheel was duly fitted and the spinner tightened and secured the wheel without bottoming out on the thread before the wheel was tight. Success. Incidentally one trunnion seal was really perished and cracked and split and just broke up if you flexed it, the other was good as new but both were the same age, approx 20 years old.

The one in place is oriented the same way as the one on the finger. It is deformed against the upright as BBB's is.

Just to prove that I'm not kidding. Note that in this video the parts are dry; if properly lubed it would go on a little farther and cause even more deformation.
