In anticipation of getting the SJ hub removal tool.
Can anyone tell me how they stop the hub from rotating when getting medieval with hammer on spinner when removing hub, I done I dry run and used my crow bar in through space on brake disc and locked it against wishbone and point where calliper fixes to lug on rear hubs shaft, that seemed to work but I was not working the hammer on it, last thing I want to do is damage anything else in the process of getting hub off.
Should I heat hub first I only have access to plumbers torch at home which should be able to heat a bit, but I’m wary of heating new bearings
Cheers
Jason

Hi Jason
I wrote a long thread about this way back, that might provide some pointers.

The salient points are: Packer, spinner, torque, heat cycle a few times, hope Mars is in the constellation of Sagittarius, etc. In the end I succeeded, using a butane torch and lots of whacking on the spinner with a lead hammer.
Cheers

PS, when I bought my S4, a restoration project, the PO kindly removed both rear hubs for me using the proper Lotus tool. Said it took 5 minutes per side!

The Kelvedon hub removal tool whilst more expensive is a proper and much better piece of kit. No ruining or using of spinners at all. Just a well made tool. https://kelvedonlotus.co.uk/product/rear-hub-puller/
