Confused with front brakes (Girling Type 16)

PostPost by: Arizon » Fri Oct 07, 2022 8:00 am

Finally I have been able to resolve my problem.

I have taken out the brake pads and together with the guy from the parts shop, we found that same brakes (Girling Type 16) were used in the Ford Capri 1974 (among other models and years...), they have the pads in stock and they have exactly same size and dimensions

I have installed them with no modification.

Arizon,

Good news, glad the problem is resolved, and thanks for keeping us informed of the outcome.

Aren't the internal threads for the Bleed Nipple and the Brake Line going to be either 3/8UNF or M10x1. Check the threads with a bolt of the appropriate size to confirm which.

Derek.

The metric 16 caliper has "G" cast into the half facing outward.
The imperial 16 caliper does not have this G instead it has some writing about patents on the half that faces inward. The metric 16 caliper does not have the writing about patents.
