Plus 2 front calipers for Elan S1

Hi,

I'm lucky enough to have successfully raced an Elan S1 using standard calipers and discs

I assume here when referring to "standard" calipers on an S1 you're thinking of type 14 calipers on standard discs instead of the original type 12?

Yes type 14 - I meant standard as in standard for an Elan.

I have just been offered a set of what are apparently new old stock Girling calipers-2 AR and 2 NR for $1800.00 US This is too much for me with my conversion to Canadian dollars but perhaps a US member can benefit. Worth considering that the NR caliper requires the correct 26R magnesium rear upright with 3.5" mounting for the NR calipers though.

DBE can supply special NR calipers that bolt directly to standard bearing carriers. They can also supply AR calipers that work with +2 discs.
