Is the only way to tell if the hubs are installed right, would be by the threads?? Can the hubs even be installed wrong?

To your first point, the handedness of the threads is all that differentiates the LH and RH hubs, both front and rear. This answers your question, there is nothing to prevent you from installing the hubs on the wrong side other than checking the threads first.
