Anti-Roll Bar fitment to damper

PostPost by: mcole01 » Mon Mar 04, 2024 6:43 pm

Hello All,

I fitted the anti-roll bar to the studs on the bottom of the dampers/shocks but because of the downward angle of the bar from the chassis to the threaded stud on the bottom of each shock and and because the flat part of the bar with the hole slopes down towards the center of the chassis neither are perpendicular to the threaded stud on the bottom of the damper/shock. As a result I can't get the rubber bushes and their hats seated flush to the bar without them being squashed on one side. Am I doing something wrong here or do I just nut the bushes as tight as I can and ignore that they don't sit square on the anti-roll bar?

Mike

For starters, there is something very wrong with the angle of the front wishbones if the wheels are on the ground, which they appear to be. And then I notice you have adjustable shocks. You need to sort out the ride height first, and then the ARB will fit correctly, all things being equal, as they say.

The front lower wishbones should be close to horizontal

Looks like you might be working with a bare chassis. If so, just wait until the car is closer to final assembly then tighten up the nuts.
