rear damper removal

I believe it to be a collar or spacer to limit the damper rod travel when used in conjunction with the Aeon bump stop. Meaning, the effect of the bump stop comes in earlier. Usually made in aluminium so as not to mark the chrome. It should just pull up and off the rod.

It's just staked on there. You may have to drill out the areas staked area to remove it. Just stake it back in place on assembly in a different area of the spacer skirt.
NOTE: It's P/N 050D0154, not shown in the parts diagram, but listed below the Aeon bump stop.
