Tried to quickly change my elan S4 front pads to mintex 1144 today but need to push back the piston as too tight. 3 questions.
1. What tool do you recommend? As below?
2. Caliper removal required?
3. Do you need to let some brake fluid out?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/449774-Spreder ... 3189&psc=1
Thanks
Miles.

Some good youtube stuff to watch
Yes, new brake fluid every year, or two.
Remove pads, place with similar but thinner blocks of wood, open bleeder. Depress brake pad ( the wood blocks stops the pistons from exiting the calliper housing ), but you want to move new fluid into calliper.
Once you’ve pushed piston in all the way and have steady flow of clear new fluid, close bleeder. Reassemble.

Born, and brought home from the hospital (no seat belt (wtf)) in a baby!
Find out where the limits are, and start from there

My one of those bent the 'paddles' trying to push my Elan front pistons back. It works ok on some of my bike brake pistons but not on the Elan.
