I thought I had it all nailed down.
I am more confused now.

According to the manual the front spring is 14.19 / 8.6 Free / fitted. A the initial poster stated.
So this would give a preload of 14.19 - 8.6 X 110 lbs = 559lbs.
A 11in free length, fitted between the same damper seats would only give 11 - 8.6 (2.4) X 140 = 336 lbs.
To get a 559 lb preload the lower seat would have to be raised to compress a 140 lb spring 3.99 inches.
3.99 - 2.4 = an extra 1.59 inches. I. e. - most of the adjustment
OR to get the same preload, with a 140lb spring, it would need a free length of 12.59 inches.
I recall some talk of the European vs N.A. the N.A. being about 1.5" taller. Of course I can't find the thread now (headlight height requirements?)

Like said, fairly confused as to the photos of some +2 sitting with an inch of space between wheel arch and tyre. Others with 2.5 inches of free space. Though I suspect it was only to meet headlight height requirements in N.A.
Now most +2 have the correct 10 front and 12.59 rear?
This is what one of my +2 is
The other is 14.2 front and 15.75 rear
So maybe the lower 10 12.59 has been cut previously, and the optimum is about 12.xx and 14.xx free???
Kind Regards

Found the old notes
1.9 inches inside diameter
12 inches free length
125lbs rate
8.53mm wire diameter
14.625 total coils
So it jives with Vince & Rohan etc, just not long enough. Which I think the extra .59 of height would get closer to the 140lb.
This would also change the total coils.

So I am more sure of the front springs, the Inside 1.9" ID. Outside of 2.562" OD +/-.062 - .074".
Though I suppose this is a bit determined by thickness. Seems the two possibilities are either .331” or .343” . Then again, I am sure the thicker can be made to fit.
12.59 free + / - .062 - .074
So the least coils, and thickest material is where it is at.
The rear material and dimensions are more easy, mainly there is more space for travel and coil binding/bottoming wont be an issue.
