Fitting master and slave cylinder seal kits

I had an issue with my clutch where I would loose the effectiveness of the pedal but could get it to work again by pumping the pedal a little. I bought the master cylinders and slave cylinder about 25 years ago and they've been in storage until they got fitted last year. Having searched for posts about this my thinking is that the non-return valve might be the problem. I decided to fit new seal kits. Captured it on video as it may help others:
