Brass blobs on rear wishbones

I was stripping the rear wishbones to repaint them and noticed that each had a couple of blobs of brass in places on the tubes where there was no joint. Do these blobs perform some function, or are they merely symptoms of sloppiness during fabrication?

Probably covering vent holes to allow the tubes to breathe when the end brazing was done. Had to drill holes for the same function when adding turnbuckles recently...lesson learned on my part.

I found brazing on one of my +2 rear wishbones. I believe this was from repairs after a rotoflex failure,

From memory I think mine had similar blobs of brazing, I too concluded that it was vent holes plugged up after the rest of the joints had been made up. There was a dent in one tube that had been filled in with braze presumably foe aesthetic reasons as the tube was straight and otherwise un-damaged.
