Front Suspension removed.

PostPost by: djb222 » Thu Aug 30, 2018 4:39 pm

I've now removed all components forward of the bulkhead for refurbishment or replacing....today it was the turn of the suspension. The off side took about 45mins but on the other side the top nut was stuck and took about 40mins to remove.

Trying to decide on whether to upgrade the suspension or not... not sure how old the dampers are..

If you decide to upgrade your shock absorbers / springs, I'm looking for a pair in better condition than mine (which I think are proper shot). Judging from the state of the springs, I'd say yours had some life in them though.

My springs on the other hand are thick with rust.

If it's a 2 seater the Stud on the bottom of the Shock is not at the same angle as the +2

I have a pair of TTR "comfort" spec dampers with adjustable spring seats which were on my car for about 3 years and are in good condition. The same can't be said for the springs, however, which each broke into 4 pieces. I replaced the units completely because I had limited time to do it. So if you can source some new springs, they might be useful to you.
